A bit of history. Today, about 80+ years ago, the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) was incorporated on 17 November 1941. Its first annual meeting was held at the Williams Club on 24 East 39th Street (between Madison and Park Avenues) in New York City on 9 December 1941. The Club was then a private alumni social club for the prestigious liberal arts school, Williams College, now transformed into The William, a boutique hotel.
