The Institute of Internal Auditors, India is managed by a governing council consisting of members, who are nominated from various chapters. The members in turn elect the office bearers, who manage the activities of the institute.

The institute chapters are also similarly managed by board of governors, represented by the office bearers. The chapter presidents are also invited to the governing council at IIA, India.
